Dr John Iyamu
Dr John Iyamu comes to us from the UK where he completed his undergraduate and postgraduate medical training, followed by GP training. He then went on to be a successful practice owner and principal GP before moving to Australia in 2016. Dr Iyamu is passionate about all areas of medicine and general practice, in particular chronic disease management such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease and geriatrics.
Dr Paul Ellis
Dr Paul Ellis is originally from the UK and has worked in Australia for over 15 years. Dr Ellis has extensive expertise in all areas of acute and chronic medical problems and mental health issues. Dr Ellis has a Masters in Sports Medicine and has a special interest in musculoskeletal injuries and back problems. He specialises and is very successful in using Acupuncture to treat a range of muscle and joint problems.
Dr Richard Pertwee
Dr Pertwee is a UK trained and worked as a GP in the UK for 14 years prior to moving to Australia in 2017.
He has special interests in Chronic Disease Management, Diabetes and Dementia, having previously worked as a GP specialist in Dementia.
He also performs most joint injections, minor surgical procedures and Implanon™ insertions/removals.
Dr Natasha Gilchrist
Dr Natasha Gilchrist trained in London, qualifying in 1998. She worked as a GP in Sussex, UK, until coming to WA in 2016.
She has a special interest in sports and exercise medicine and is able to offer dry needling for sports injuries. She also specialises in women's health and can
insert/remove Implanon, Mirena coils and perform cervical screening tests. She also has an interest in memory issues including dementia, paediatrics and the management of chronic disease.
In her spare time she enjoys competing in triathlon and spending time with her family.
Dr Martin Monroe
Martin studied at Oxford and Nottingham, then completed a number of hospital posts in the MIdlands area of the UK. He completed his GP training in Lincolnshire, and went on to be a partner in a rural dispensing practice. He came to Australia in April 2019 and offers a broad and experienced approach to all aspects of general practice and chronic disease management.
Dr Anupam Chauhan
Dr Anupam Chauhan earned his Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBBS) in India and then moved to Australia to complete his fellowship as specialist GP with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. He is a holistic GP with a focus on preventative care to achieve best patient outcomes. He has a special interest in chronic disease management including Diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure, and obesity. He has worked extensively in rural WA and has a vast knowledge of issues for people living outside major centres. He has also gained additional training in diagnosing and treating skin cancer. He has a special interest and training in chronic pain management including using medicinal cannabis when appropriate.

Dr Eoin Mc Donnell
Dr Eoin Mc Donnell did his undergraduate medical training and post-graduate GP training in Ireland, followed by a Masters in Sport Medicine.
He worked as a GP in Ireland for several years before moving to Australia in 2012. He has worked in the Port Kennedy area since then before establishing Core Medical in 2016.
Since early 2021, Dr McDonnell has stepped away from consulting in Core Medical to focus more on business development and leadership roles. As the business of running a general practice becomes increasingly complex, this move has been necessary to ensure to effective growth and continuity of the practice going forward so that it can continue to service the growing medical needs of the community. It has also allowed him to set up other services for the community, such as the Port Kennedy Respiratory Clinic located next door to Core Medical, which has offered a dedicated service for people with coughs, colds and flu-like symptoms to be seen safely when ill and be tested for COVID-19. Since March 2021 this clinic has also been offering COVID-19 vaccinations.
Amanda has over 20 years’ experience in the Occupational Health & Musculoskeletal setting having worked in the UK, NZ and Australia. Her experience within this area is comprehensive from strategic client prevention interventions through to rehabilitation for individual clients/employees. Amanda is passionate about delivering high quality care to individuals and organizations alike. Industry exposure includes Healthcare, Mining, Oil & Gas, Logistics & Government departments.
Amanda is committed to helping patients achieve an early sustainable return to work and functional activities. This is achieved by effective communication and utilizing best practice to empower the patient in their home or work environment to actively manage their injury. Using a collaborative style along with an excellent knowledge of musculoskeletal disorders, psychosocial factors, liaising with each stakeholder involved to help patients set goals (SMART) optimizing return to function and work.
Amanda loves the outdoors, is a keen skier, hockey player and runner and enjoys spending time with her family & chocolate Labrador Mango!
Pamela is a Physiotherapist and Educator with over 20 years’ experience in the management of Musculoskeletal conditions across the public, private and education sectors in the UK and Australia. Over the years, Pamela has developed a special interest in the management of spinal pain conditions and has worked in a diagnostic triage role with the Neurosurgery and Pain Service teams at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital. This service provided reduced wait times and enhanced efficiency in health management for those referred with spinal pain. Pamela has worked for many years as a lecturer in the Undergraduate Physiotherapy program at the University of Notre Dame Australia (UNDA) supporting and developing students to become the next generation of Physiotherapists.
Pamela is passionate about facilitating the best outcome for a person, through open and honest communication, evidence based practice, shared-decision making and empowering the individual to play an active part in their well-being and health care journey. Pamela is very excited to be joining the team at Activity Matters/Core Medical and to have the opportunity to contribute in a positive way to the health of the Port Kennedy/Warnbro community.
Pamela enjoys the outdoors, being active, spending time with family and dogs and loves a wee dip in the ocean after a run along our beautiful Warnbro Sound beach.
Practice Nurses - Shaeman & Naomi
Shaeman & Naomi are experienced registered nurses and bring a wealth of knowledge to our treatment room. They will be involved in your holistic care, chronic disease management and will quickly triage you if you are unwell and need prompt attention. They are fantastic with children and will make your child's trip to the doctor as enjoyable as possible.
Practice Manager- Jeannie
Jeannie has extensive experience working in administration and management roles in medical practices. She oversees the daily operation of the practice and ensures efficient processes and protocols are put in place.
